Canines are an instrumental part of the law enforcement mission and serve as an irreplaceable tool in locating and apprehending wanted suspects. The canines serve as the “tip of the spear” while searching for dangerous criminals who would seek to do harm. Our loyal canine partners routinely demonstrate their willingness to go into harms way and to protect their communities, their partners, and their handlers.
The Placer County K9 Association is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2019 for the purpose of serving the retired and actively working canines of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The PCK9A is funded through charitable donations which are used to fund medical procedures and medications to help maintain a high quality of life for the canines that have concluded their tour of duty, as well as covering the cremation and burial costs when the canines have reached the end of their time on this earth.
